A friendly family tradition

In 1934 Max and Ena Jaffer purchased one of six cottages on St Vincent Street, and went on to establish Jaffers furniture. Eventually they would purchase the remaining five cottages and transform them into the large Jaffers show room that exists today. The building has since been heritage listed.

Jaffers furniture continues to be owned and operated by Heather Jaffer.

Roger and Heather Jaffer continued this family tradition until February 2022, when sadly Roger Jaffer passed away. Heather Jaffer continues to manage the family business, and along with her highly dedicated and experienced staff, provide the people of Adelaide and regional South Australia with a realistically priced choice of quality local, Australian made and, imported furniture and decorator items.

Jaffers has been in business for over eighty nine years and has earned the outstanding reputation they have by not being just average – it has taken hard work, dedication and four generations of family commitment.

Jaffers Seniors section was established over 20 years ago, it boasts Adelaide’s largest selection of furniture proportionally designed specifically for retirement units, aged care facility rooms and virtually anywhere that space is of a minimum.
